\nIn recent weeks, many of us have experienced how important our home is as a retreat and an oasis; moreover, for some of us, it has become an extended office. Quite fortunate also are those who can use outdoor spaces and thus gain like an extra room for the coming summer. In addition to the general trend of ‘urban gardening’, outdoor spaces are becoming more and more important as personal and individual retreats – to relax, to be, to enjoy and to dream. Because even in the smallest of spaces, you can create a beautiful oasis just for yourself. Then, pleasant light is especially important for evening moods because it enhances each space, both visually and emotionally.<\/p>\n

How does it work? Some tips from feel-good experts:<\/strong>
\nApart from safety aspects regarding sidewalks and stair lighting, outdoor lights should only be used indirectly. Nothing troubles the eye more than when too bright light is used in the dark – it also reduces everything romantic. Isn\u2019t that precisely why we love candles and lanterns outdoors?
\nElectric luminaries such as spotlights for example, should always disappear in pots, and plants be illuminated rather from below: it creates some mysticism. Emotional lighting on balconies and terraces is also generated when lights are integrated into plants as this further enhances the effect of depth. Lanterns or floor lights are great for this; in such cases, creating islands or groups of light also counts.<\/p>\n

OOPS – no more power?<\/strong>
\nIn the last few months, a lot of battery-operated lights have come on the market; mobile on the one hand, some function without batteries, but work with chargers. On top of this, a selection of solar-powered outdoor lamps are also available. However, when buying such models, make sure that they last as long as possible and that their light is as warm as possible (similar to candlelight, i.e. approx. 1800K to 2300K).<\/p>\n
